Dawn McCracken

Dawn is a late fifties ex civil servant with a long history of never having written a word of fiction (until now) but having read loads. She is particularly interested in how women and girls are portrayed, having taken decades to realise how limited and limiting that can be. She is new to writing but has no intention of stopping just yet.

Her short story THE CRIMSON CROWN won joint first prize in Crimson Cloak Publishing's 2016 short story writing competition and is published in the anthology compilation of the best entries, THE RIDER.

THE RIDER consists of the prizewinning and best runner-up stories of 1500-3000 words, based around a stock picture, that were entered in the 2016 Crimson Cloak Publishing short story writing competition.
