Electric Eclectic

Electric Eclectic novelettes were the brainchild of Paul White. They were intended to be taster introductions to an author's body of work, on the same lines as the CRIMSON SHORTS. Like the Crimson Shorts they began as ebooks, and in association with Crimson Cloak Publishing are now looking to make their way into print.

Electric Eclectic authors may take advantage of Crimson Cloak services, and Crimson Cloak authors who wish to write items for the Electric Eclectic range will get the benefit of their extensive advertising resources.

INFORMATION About Electric Eclectic books for Crimson Cloak Authors:

Electric Eclectic novelettes are the brainchild of Paul White. They are intended to be taster introductions to an author's body of work, on the same lines as the CRIMSON SHORTS. Like the Crimson Shorts they began as eBooks, and in association with Crimson Cloak Publishing are now looking to make their way into print.

Electric Eclectic is NOT a publisher, it is a brand specifically designed to market authors, as such Electric Eclectic does not claim any copyrights or take any royalties.

Paul formed EE as an aid for authors to promote their works by banding together under a common brand. The synergy of numbers giving greater market reach and exposure than each could achieve alone.

With free & discounted books losing their impact, (Amazonís own figures show only 2% of free downloads are read), and creating a 'breed' of freebie hunters, it seemed to him crazy for authors to keep giving away their prime works.

Paul knew there had to be a better method.

His idea was to re-vamp the short read, create a recognizable brand and market those works, in novelette form, as introductory reads. By having a price for the work, albeit a low one, the novelettes would retain an intrinsic value and not be classed as free or discounted.

Paul guesses EE could be considered a sort of reader/author 'Tinder'!

Paul works closely with all the EE authors personally and jointly, keeping them in touch with activities and results through email and a 'private' Facebook group page. (Good for group communications). EE is regarded as an author 'family' by those who have joined it.

As an author, Paul also wanted to sell more of his own books, so he is not running EE for profit. The license fees, which are minimal, are re-invested into Electric Eclectic.

Electric Eclectic does not publish, each author publishes their own books (or through Crimson Cloak) so they keep full rights and royalties. The license states the book be first published as an Amazon Kindle book, following the EE guide. After which the author is free, even encouraged, to publish on other platforms as brand exposure is all part of the overall marketing strategy.

Crimson Cloak authors who wish to write items for or include their existing Crimson Shorts to the Electric Eclectic range will get the benefit of their extensive advertising resources (subject to EE publishing guidelines). Any author wishing to self publish a short book/story as ebook only in the EE range should e-mail Paul at EEbookbranding@mail.com

Note from Carly, there is a small fee associated with the license to use EE branding so that Paul can market your book for you.

INFORMATION About Crimson Cloak for EE Authors:

Electric Eclectic authors wanting a print version of their EE book may submit their book(s) to Crimson Cloak Publishing, Electric Eclecticís preferred print partner as 'pocket size' reads, incorporating the EE and CCP branding. (Subject to CCP publishing guidelines). Should EE authors be interested in doing this, e-mail Carly at carly@crimsoncloakpublishing.com  and please put in the subject line: EE Books Author.

Note from Paul, due to the differing needs of print Vs electronic books, minimum page count etc., it may be worth considering publishing two or more EE ebook stories as a single paperback.

Note from Paul, unlike our EE Novelettes, the cost/price of printed pocket books will be dictated by the size and other print factors. Please be guided by Crimson Cloak in this respect.

Crimson Cloak are not a vanity publisher and do not charge authors anything to be published: remuneration is via royalty split after all expenses such as platform/distribution fees are settled. So as not to disadvantage authors already in the Crimson Cloak queue, in order to conserve their assigned isbn block and finance a new one, Electric Eclectic authors and new applicants whose books pass Crimson Cloak submission quality checks will be asked to pay a license fee of $25 to include an isbn from the block owned by Crimson Cloak. Accepted books will then be edited, formatted and placed in print distribution by Crimson Cloak at no further cost, with that author being added to the community of CRIMSON AUTHORS, but retaining 100% of their royalties. The isbn remains their own if they choose later to move the book elsewhere.

Crimson Cloak publishes all genres except erotica, with a bias towards projects that reflect their green socially responsible ethos. Thus, there is now a wide existing catalogue spanning a range of genres, including the Crimson Cloak Anthologies. These are a collection of donated short stories and other material by various authors from any source. Originally, they were to be offered free, but some sites do not allow listing of permanently free books, so it was decided to offer all proceeds to a charity: the series is up to volume 9 currently and Crimson Cloak are planning a special theme for the tenth in this series. The anthologies are a way to get authors' names around and give a sample of their work, as well as giving back to Humanity by giving proceeds of these anthologies to Charity, doing what can be done to Pay it Forward.  (See Paying it Forward page and Facebook group - called Pink Piffing.)

At Crimson Cloak, authors are family, and new members welcomed via the hook-up with Electric Eclectic books are eagerly anticipated.
